Nutrition: Cereals… not just food
Cereals are also widely used to produce alcoholic beverages, such as beer and whisky, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like Barleycup. Today, cereals are used not only in human and animal nutrition, but also in a wide range of other fields, including cosmetics and personal care, clothing, household products, childcare and toys, and the energy sector.
A FEW NOTES ON THE NON-FOOD USE OF CEREALS:
Bran shampoo for cats
Brushing with cereals (especially bran) is a valid alternative for giving your cat a shampoo. It is an ancient remedy, yet an effective one. Here are a few simple instructions: heat the bran in the oven for 5 minutes at 150°C (about 200 grams will be sufficient). Spread some newspapers on the floor and place the cat on top. Once the bran has cooled, sprinkle it over the animal’s coat, then rub and massage gently. After a few minutes, brush the cat thoroughly. In the end, the coat will be smooth and clean. This type of shampoo should be carried out regularly.
